Simple Cheese sauce

Whenever I plan to make a simple creamy dipping sauce then this cheese sauce is the one that comes to my mind. We all love this as a creamy side for our chips / pretzels/ fries. Quick and easy to make .... it is sure a perfect addition when you have just a few minutes in hand and want to serve a yummy dip to your loved ones

The recipe is almost the same except for the addition of extra cheese and less milk. Bring in variations by adding different spices and enjoy your homemade dipping sauces. Kids will love it
  
Serves... 4 ppl
Serve option... Room Temp

This is what u'll need...

Butter - 1 tbspn 
Flour - 1 tspn
Milk - 1/2 cup
Cheese - 1/2 cup
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste

Here is the stir....
  • Heat a tablespoon of butter in a pan
  • Add a teaspoon of all-purpose flour / maida to the butter and cook it for a few seconds. Keep the flame on low and stir continuously to cook the flour evenly and fully without burning / browning it
  • Once the butter-flour mix starts bubbling well, add 1/2 cup of milk to the pan whisking the mixture continuously. Whisking is important to avoid the formation of any lumps
  • Once the mixture starts to thicken add 1/2 cup of shredded cheese
  • Cook this mixture whisking continuously till the mixture is well blended, creamy and smooth
  • Season it with salt and pepper and mix well

  • Serve with your favourite snack and enjoy the dip
                              Note: 
                              • Keep the flame low when cooking the flour
                              • Whisk continuously after adding milk to avoid any lumps
                              • The cheese will melt quickly so keep whisking to ensure a smooth blend
