About Me

Life is just like music -  Everybody likes it in a different way.... say .... different modulations, different lyrics, different types and well different levels of volume as well. Everyone loves to enjoy it in their own style. Same is with life. We all have different attitudes towards life, different expectations from life, different perspectives at life, different junctures in life and altogether different ways to face life and everything that life has to offer.

I have a lot of things that I love about my life... things that I have learnt, things I have seen, things I have done, people I have met, people who taught me valuable lessons, family, friends and much more. The count is just endless. It just keeps adding up and moves towards infinity. The best chord in ones life is Family and yes the same with me too. A loving hubby and two naughty and extremely loving fun-filled kids is what I am blessed with. I am now a full-time mom busy with too much love handling my honey-sweet little fellas. They keep me busy all day long with not much but all that we do ;) We sing and we dance, we play and we learn, we shout and we fight, we break and we fix, we hit and we cry, we do every little thing that keeps us happy and bubbling with energy. Doing all this I often get off from the blog for quite long times and then I get back with lots of stuff that I would have saved for a long while to post.

I love life and all its beautiful chords and yes I am very happy with what I am. But it just doesn't stop there. I am always in love to try something new. Having my hands full can never be a reason to keep me away from things I love to do. And some simple things in my 'always love to do' list are my love to cook, sing, dance, craft, play music, clean, garden, recycle and few more. My simple policy for life is - "Never can a perfectionist be born but there is never any wrong in trying to be one. "

To write about this blog I should say - This place is where I have saved my kitchen happiness or I should say kitchen stories. Cooking is something I love and here is how it shows my love to learn it. I believe in happy and healthy home-eating to enjoy the goodness of every meal. That doesn't mean that I don't go to restaurants. We do, but I prefer trying to learn every kind of day-to-day recipe which I can try and make it right in my kitchen. I am not so much into fancy food stuff but I would definitely love to learn some fancy recipes too. But recipes here are the ones that I use on a frequent basis to help hungry bunnies with quick-fix meals. This blog is not about fancy cooking but for sure about simple cooking.

A grand lie 'I am the best COOK' is not what I wanna start with and I know it won't be the best way to introduce myself on the cooking floor. So here's the truth. I love to cook but I cant say that it turns out perfect every time. I still remember when I met my hubby for the first time. His Dad was sitting beside him and when talking about cooking he asked me "Do you know how to make HOT WATER??" Everybody burst out laughing and I was smiling too. That is a proof of my cooking skills when I got married. Till date, my fil reminds me of that joke whenever I ask him hows been the meal for the day. :) :) :)

Experimenting nowadays is becoming more of an addiction than just an interest. There have been numerous accidental trials that have made a big hit at the table but a lot more times terrific disasters ;) Lots of times I have redone my own recipes without any problem and the same lip-smacking style but there have been many a time when I have just forgotten what made the same dish the other day so very special. Yes, yes I have this very good habit of forgetting and lately it has been more than before - not to say too many things to handle ;)

The start of writing recipes had begun long back (when I got married). Recipe writing started with just a pen and paper which I always used to grab when I had to treasure some recipe. I know 2 very good cooks personally ;) - my Mom and my Mother-in-law. Perfect they are - in everything they cook. Simple recipes taste heavenly by their touch. These chefs were the first who handed me their secret treasure which was in my notebooks and papers and diaries and scrap pieces too for some time. Slowly it turned that the papers were blowing away with time. Then I had them jotted in my laptop. I had to look back for recipes for myself and also for friends who wanted to learn. Typically I had to jump in and out of my recipe collection folder every now and then.

Then came a time when I wanted to treasure my tried and tested recipes. I had a few decent ones that I learned from my mom or my mother-in-law, my sis, my friends, myself, cooking channels. I had to figure out a way to treasure what I know and also a place where I could myself come back every time in need of a little help when cooking. This beautiful want is what landed me up here at "Little Spice and Little Stir". I add up posts as I make something interesting for my family

Cooking is all about one's own style. Basic ingredients might be the same but the spice and stir of every individual decide the outcome. I have my style here for references - make your changes and help yourself to suit it to your style.

I know I am learning but I also know that I never want to stop learning.

So be it - Happy Learning and Happy Cooking !!!!
