Paneer Fingers ... quick treat for kids...

Paneer for breakfast or snack time is always a hit among my kids. In fact they can have it any time :) Had some fresh homemade paneer in the fridge. Kids saw it and wanted to have it for breakfast. Time was already up and I wasnt in a  mood to cook anything extra for breakfast. But their extra smiles and hugs always make me do what they want. I had to think of something quick and easy to give in 5 mins

Mixed some curd and couple of spices, drenched paneer in them and pan-fried them. Well... they turned out soft and moist and juicy and lip-smacking. It was eaten as fast as they were made. Now that gives me a 10 out of 10. If kids love it then nothing more I look forward to. Their smile of satisfaction is all that it says

Try this if you love paneer and I am sure you will want to make more

Serves... 2
Serve option... Hot

This is what u'll need....

Paneer - made from half litre of milk. Click here for recipe
Curd - 1 1/2 tbspn
Red chilli powder - 1/4 tspn
Chaat masala - 1/4 tspn
Gram flour - 1/2 to 1 tspn
Oil - 2 tbspn
Salt to taste

Here is the stir....
  • Spoon in curd into a bowl. If you have hung curd then it will be much better. I didnt have any so used regular curd
  • Add salt and  red chilli powder to taste

  • Sprinkle some chaat masala. It is optional. If you want you can use other spices instead of this that might be in your kittchen counter
  • Add little gram flour. This helps hold the spices against the paneer
  • Whisk everything together till blended
  • Cut paneer into long pieces
  • Push paneer slices into the mixture gently few at a time. Turn them around with a gentle hand to coat the pieces evenly
  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a frying pan. Leave it on medium flame for a minute
  • When oil is hot place paneer pieces carefully. Fry for a few seconds till it gets a little brown
  • Turn to the other side and cook for a few seconds.... just for a few seconds. I was in a hurry so broke a few pieces. Just be gentle as the paneer tends to be very very soft
  • Take them out of the pan
  • Serve hot as is and let the kids enjoy

                                        Note:
                                        • Cook only for a few seconds on each side
                                        • Add spices to suit your taste
                                        • Add only 1 tablespoon of oil per batch
