Paneer-65 .... a lip-smacking appetizer

Paneer-65 is a great hit whenever it has been served. Paneer cubes drenched in a batter blended with spices and deep-fried makes a perfect appetizer. An appetizer perfect for parties and get-togethers alike. Make the batter ahead of time and just fry the stuff when the guests have arrived

My kids love this. So whenever I have excess milk I try to make paneer for the next day. Many a times we end using it for making this for our evening snack. Nothing more satisfying than your kids falling in love and enjoying food that has been served to them

This recipe calls for very few ingredients. Try it and enjoy

Serves... 4 ppl
Serve option... Hot with ketchup

This is what u'll need....

Paneer
Maida / All-purpose flour - 2 tbspn
Corn Flour - 1 tbspn
Rice Flour -  1 tbspn
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
Coriander powder - 1/4 tspn
Fennel powder - 1/4 tspn
Chaat masala - for sprinkling just before serving
Salt to taste

Here is the stir....
  • Cut paneer into small bite-sized cubes and keep it ready

  • Take a wide-mouthed bowl. Add couple of tablespoons of maida/all-purpose flour to the bowl
  • Spoon in a tablespoon of corn flour
  • Add a tablespoon of rice flour
  • Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, fennel powder and salt

  • Pour a little water and whisk it to make a lump-free batter. The batter shouldnt be too runny

  • Add the paneer cubes to the batter and mix gently so that they are evenly coated
  • Heat oil in a small kadai for deep-frying
  • When oil is hot enough add a few cubes of paneer
  • Fry it on medium-high flame for a about a minute or till the paneer turns golden brown
  • Drain it on paper towel to remove excess oil
  • Serve hot with ketchup and let the kids enjoy :)

Note:
  • Adjust spice to suit your taste
  • It doesnt take long to cook. Just one minute and they should be done
  • You can skip rice-flour if you like. We like a little crunch that it gives to the dish
