Mango Frooti..... slurppppp....

Mango Frooti... fresh and juicy..... remember that ad when we were kids. Oh yes frooti ... a drink loved by almost every kid. I dont drink aerated drinks.. not at all and if there is a kind request from anybody at a birthday party or any get-together to have a drink I would love to go for any mango drink..... say maaza or frooti or slice

I never thought of making it at home but for the past few days I have been seeing a lot of videos coming up on the internet. So thought why not try it this summer. Oh yes we tried and believe me its better than the store bought ones. The best part is that we can adjust the sweetness and thickness as we like. The reason I avoid drinking store bought ones is that its too thick and sweet. I cant have more than 3-4 sips. But this homemade one helps be enjoy it the way I want it to be

This recipe makes a litre of concentrate that can be stored in the refrigerator. Whenever you feel like having a cool and delicious mango drink just fill few ice cubes in a glass, pour 1/3 concentrate and fill remaining with water. Thats it sip your drink away and enjoy
your hot day

My family loved this drink and we are planning to make lot more this summer.  Try and enjoy with your family too

Serves... makes 1 litre conentrate
Serve option... Chilled with ice cubes

This is what u'll need....

Ripe mangoes - 2
Raw mango - 1
Sugar - 1 1/2 cup
Water  - 1 1/2 cups

Here is the stir....
    • We need nice ripe mangoes for this. If for some reason they are not very sweet we can always add more sugar when making the concentrate
    • Peel the mangoes and scoop out the flesh. Put the mango flesh into a cooker
    • Pour half a cup of water to the cooker
    • Cover the cooker and cook mango for 4-5 whistles. Once cooked, open the pan and let it cool completely
    • Meanwhile in a pan add sugar
    • Add a cup of water to it and put it on medium flame
    • Stir it and keep it on flame till the sugar dissolves. Keep it aside and let it cool completely before you can use it
    • Once the cooked mango has cooled down transfer it to a blender and blend it till smooth. We dont want any chunks in there

    • Transfer the pulp to a bowl
    • Pour in the cooled syrup into the mango pulp and stir it around till they blend properly. Check for sweetness and if needed add more now. Think about the sweetness that will end up finally in the drink. The concentrate has to be pretty sweet
    • Transfer the contents to a clean bottle and store it in the refrigerator
    • When serving, fill few ice cubes in the glass. Add concentrate till 1/3rd is filled. Pour chilled water to fill up the glass. Give it a good stir to make the drink evenly sweet and tasty
    • Serve your family this wonderful drink and they will thank you with loads of love

    Note:
    • Initially I was planning to add 1 cup of sugar but then I had to add half a cup more
    • Here mangoes in market are not very sweet yet and the colour also is not as yellowy as they usually are
    • Dont add more water, the concentrate has to be thick
