Onion chutney

Onion chutneys is one of the favorites in our home. When having with dosa or idli you just forget to keep a track of the number of dosas/idlis you ate :) Now thats dangerous .. isnt it?? ;)

Serves... 2 ppl 
Serve option... Hot dosa or idli

This is what u'll need....

Onion 2 medium
Red chillies 3
Urad dal 3 tbspn
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbspn

Here is the stir....
  • Heat oil in a pan and add urad dal. Fry till the urad dal turns golden brown and you can smell the aroma filling the air
  • Toss in red chillies and fry a few seconds
  • Put chopped onions followed by salt and fry till the onion turns translucent
  • Let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Grind it coarsely... that is the secret of good onion chutney
  • Serve with hot dosas or idlis and enjoy
