Cheesy Bread... a kids favorite... so let them make it

To start with, let me request you to bear with all the messy appearance in the pictures. Yes... the kids were at work and they wanted to do every bit that they could. They wanted to be proud that they did every step. So dont mind the cheese sut-up and the melt-up :) they are the best helpers I could ever have and I could ever ask for. They enjoy it every time they make it. So the pictures could never be better than this. And to add, they should have more cheese than is seen down here... again kiddie kiddie

This bread recipe is super simple and super fun to make. A few bread slices, garlic, oil and cheese is all you need to get some smiley faces around. Have fun making and enjoy when you see your kids enjoy eating them

Serves... 4 kids
Serve option... Warm

This is what u'll need....

Bread - 4 slices
Cheese - as required
Garlic- 2 cloves
Oil - 1 tbspn

Here is the stir....
  • Cut the bread slices length-wise into 2 pieces each. Remove the crust if you want. We like to leave it on so no worries on that
  • Peel the garlic clove and place it in a mortar. Cruch the garlic a little and add a tbpsn of oil to it. Crush a little more so that the oil and garlic blend together
  • Pick a piece of the oily garlic and rub it on the bread slice. Repeat the same on all the pieces. This step is completely optional. We love the flavor from garlic so we sure follow it. Once all the bread slices are rubbed with garlic oil set it aside on a plate
  • Now cut up the cheese into small pieces. The best way is to shred the cheese and use it for an even spread on the bread slices. I havent done it here as the kids wanted to cut up the cheese themselves. So they used butter knives on the cheese block and the result is a little messy cut-up. But I guess thats ok

  • Once all the pieces are ready it is time for baking them. Place all the pieces properly n a lined baking sheet
  • Bake them at around 180 degrees for about 15-20 mins. You want to get the bread crust to be crunchy and crusty and the cheese melted
  • Once done let it cool for a couple of minutes before pulling it out of the oven
  • Take them out of the baking tray and arrange it on a serving plate
  • Enjoy melted cheese with the crispy bread
Note:
  • Use a lot of cheese for a melted taste. It turns out soft and gooey and that tastes best
  • Garlic with oil gives a very good aroma
  • Baking time different depending on the type of oven. The basic idea is to get the cheese melting so keep an eye when baking it
