Vanilla Pannacotta is a rich and creamy Italian dessert that is distinctive in taste and flavour. I have already posted a recipe for mango vanilla pannacotta in my earlier post. This one is to make the same fancy dessert but in a little simpler style. I know I should have posted it before that post but somehow it stayed hidden in drafts till I found it today. Thought I should post it to keep the basic style handy
This was the first pannacotta we tried at home which was a perfect pleaser. Everybody liked and so it has had various red carpet welcome occasions at home. It is so easy to make that I never get to say to making it. I love serving them in small portions to enjoy it to the core. Presentation is perfect with those tiny cups or glasses and best is you dont eat too much :)

Serve option... Chilled
This is what u'll need....
Fresh Cream - 1 cup
Milk - 1/2 cup
Gelatin - 1 1/2 tablespoon
Sugar - 4 tbspn
Vanilla Essence - 1 tspn
Tutti Frutti - for garnish
Mint leaves - for garnish
Milk - 1/2 cup
Gelatin - 1 1/2 tablespoon
Sugar - 4 tbspn
Vanilla Essence - 1 tspn
Tutti Frutti - for garnish
Mint leaves - for garnish
Here is the stir....
- Pour a cup of fresh cream into a saucepan
- Add half a cup of milk to it
- Sprinkle one and half tablespoon of gelatin to the milk
- Mix it well and let it rest for about 10 minutes. This will let the gelatin bloom which is an important step in making the pannacotta
- After 10 minutes put the pan on stove and stir it on low flame. Keep stirring till all the gelatin has dissolved completely. This step will take just a few seconds
- It is important to dissolve the gelatin completely. This will ensure that the pannacotta will be rich and creamy. If the gelatin doesnt get dissloved properly you will be able to feel the granules or solid particles in the end which dont taste very good
- Turn off the flame
- Add sugar to the milk
- Pour a teaspoon of vanilla essence and give it a good stir
- Let this mixture cool down to room temperature
- Pour it into small cups or glasses and let it chill in the refrigerator till set about 3-4 hours
- Garnish it with some tutti-frutti and a mint leaf. Serve chilled and enjoy
Note:
- Dont bring the milk to a boil. Just heat it on low to get the gelatin dissolved. Turn off the heat immediately
- Dissolve gelatin completely to get a creamy pannacotta
- Adjust sugar amount to suit you taste
