Capsicum Masala... perfect for rotis

A simple side dish which is done in minutes with minimal effort is everyones choice on days that you feel lazy to sweat out in the kitchen. This recipe one such tasty treat lending a helping hand on such lazy days. Try it as a side dish for rotis and rice and you are sure to love it.






Serves... 2 ppl
Serve option... Hot with chapatis or rice

This is what u'll need....

Capsicum - 1 big
Onion - 1 big
Tomato - 1 big
Garlic - 1 full/10-12 cloves
Oil - 1 tbspn
Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1/2 tspn
Jeera powder - 1/4 tspn
Chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
Salt to taste

Here is the stir....
  • Pour a tablespoon of oil into a non-stick pan and heat it. Add cumin seeds to this and let it crackle/start sizzling
  • Peel and slice garlic. Toss them into the oil and saute for just a few seconds
  • Now chop onion into medium sized pieces, not very small. Add it to the pan
  • Similarly chop tomatoes roughly and toss them in
  • Time for capsicum to go in. Roughly chop. You dont have to have clean cut pieces here. Stir them in
  • Time to add salt, jeera powder and chilli powder. Just little of each should do good
  • Now time to give it all a good stir and cook covered on medium flame. Rest will be taken care of. Yes ... believe me it is done. 10-12 minutes and you will everything coming together and the sabji perfectly ready. In case you feel it is getting too dry you can a few tablespoons of water
  • And voila its done. Serve it hot with chapathis or rice for a simple yet tasty side dish


                  Note:
                  • Just toss everything together  and finally stir them
                  • A little water can be used in case it seems dry
                  • Chilli powder can be adjusted to suit you taste
