Momos chutney

A spicy red chutney that compliments steamed soft momos in the perfect way. Momos might not taste heavenly unless it is served with this spicy and flavorful red sauce. I love this sauce as to how easy it is to make ad how perfectly it pairs up with the momos. Just a handful of ingredients and the sauce should be ready in no time

 


 
Serves... 4 ppl
Serve option... Room temp with momos

This is what u'll need...

Red chillies - 4
Tomato - 1
Garlic - 1 clove 
Vinegar - 1/2 tspn
Salt to taste

Here is the stir....

  • Break the red chillies into half and remove the seeds. I used only 4 chillies(pic shows 3 but I added 1 more) as the ones which I use are very hot. You can add more or less as per your wish
  • Mark a small cross on the tomato and place it in a small saucepan
  • Add the chilli skins to the pan 
  • Pour about  a quarter cup of water into the pan
  • Bring this to a boil and then let it cook on slow
  • Cook till almost all the liquid has evaporated(not all)
  • Remove the skin from tomato
  • Add all the chillies and tomato to a blender jar. Dont add the water
  • Add a peeled clove of garlic
  • Add salt to taste
  • Give it a quick pulse. Dont run it till fine
  • Add half a teaspoon of vinegar and give another quick pulse
  • Pour it into your serving bowl and serve with hot momos


                                          Note:
                                          • Dont add too much water. Also dont add the remaining cooked water when grinding
                                          • Remove the seeds before adding it to the pan
                                          • Add more or less chillies to suit you taste
