Custard Powder Halwa ... Simple to make and Perfect to taste...

Planning to make something very quick and tasty and enjoy. Here is one recipe to the rescue. 15 mins and you will have this beautiful looking halwa ready to be served. Perfect for parties, get together, festivals or just to grab any time of the day

Pick your favorite flavored custard powder and make this in a jiffy. Kids love to eat it too as it has a beautiful jelly like look and texture. The color is also pleasing to the eyes. Sweeten it mildly or dense to suit your taste buds

We make small batches so that we can enjoy just content. Super soft and melt-in-the-mouth halwa is what we get to enjoy

Serves... 4-6 ppl
Serve option... Hot

This is what u'll need....

Custard powder - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1/4 cup + 2 tbspn
Water - 1 cup
Cardamom powder - a pinch
Cashews - 5-6 nos
Ghee - 1 tbspn or less

Here is the stir....

    • Chop cashews into small pieces and fry them in little ghee. You can do this at this step at the start and keep it ready
    • Measure custard powder into a wide bowl
    • To this add sugar. We feel thus sweetness is perfect for our family. Check if you would want to add more
    • Add a pinch of cardamom powder to the bowl
    • Measure a cup of water and add it to the bowl
    • Mix everything together with a wire whisk and ensure there are no lumps
    • Now turn the flame on and place a nonstick pan on it
    • Whisk the liquid to ensure the cornflour doesn't settle at the bottom
    • Pour it into the non stick pan
    • In a few seconds you will see some jelly forming in some places. Continue stirring

    • In a few seconds everything will start coming together and start leaving the sides of the pan

    • Add chopped and fried cashews to this along with a little ghee

    • Mix everything together and transfer it immediately to a greased bowl which will let the halwa set and take shape. I use square shaped boxes to get the square shape
    • Let it cool down and set for a while. You can also refrigerate it to make the setting faster
    • Once cool turn it on to a greased plate and cut it into squares. It slides off easily without sticking

    • Garnish with some more cashews or enjoy it as is. Enjoy your dessert

            Note:
            • Mix the cornflour, sugar and water very well to avoid any lumps
            • As soon as you start cooking keep your ladle in "stir mode" :) Keep stirring continuously
            • Use as little ghee as possible else you will feel that it too greasy towards the end
