Spicy green moong dal gravy is rich in contributing goodness to health and taste too. These little dals are always an attraction to my eyes and so are always stored in a shelf where my eyes wander everytime over the most-used cabinet. I love sprouted moong salad, moong dal chaat and moong dal curry, moong dal vada and so on
This is what u'll need....
Green moong dal 1/2 cup
Onion 1 medium
Tomato 1 medium
Gg paste 1 tspn
Green chilli 3
Sambar powder 1/2 tspn
Garam masala powder 1 tspn
Milk 1/4 cup (optional)
Mustard seeds 1 tspn
Jeera/cumin 1 tspn
Gram flour 1 tspn
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbspn

Sambar powder 1/2 tspn

Milk 1/4 cup (optional)

Jeera/cumin 1 tspn
Gram flour 1 tspn

Oil 1 tbspn
Here is the stir....
- Soak moong dal overnight. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles and let it cool
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, jeera
- Toss in chopped onions, green chillies, salt and fry till onion turns translucent
- Mis gg paste, gram flour and cook till it loses the raw flavor
- Add chopped tomatoes, sambar powder and cook for 3-4 mins
- Mash the green dal a little and add it to the pan
- Pour a cup of water and cook for around 8-10 mins on medium high
- Can use coriander and cumin powder if needed. I prefer it without them tho :)
- Pour milk and give a quick stir. Milk is optional, you can always skip it
- Turn off the heat and garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving
